ISLANDERS INSIDER: 2007-08 ISLANDERS ROSTER IS SET

The roster for the start of the New York Islanders' 2007-08 season has been set. The Islanders will open the season with a roster of 23, not including injured forward Shawn Bates. Ted Nolan's roster is comprised of two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 13 forwards.

The Islanders are led by captain Bill Guerin and alternates Mike Sillinger and Brendan Witt. The following players took the ice at Islanders Iceworks this afternoon for practice. The Islanders open the season on Friday night in Buffalo before hosting the Sabres on Opening Night at the Nassau Coliseum on Saturday night. Kids Opening Day is Monday, Columbus Day, when the Islanders host the Washington Capitals at 2:00 pm.
