Live blogging the NHL on XM

Live blogging the NHL on XM radio show on the NHL Network is a bit more difficult that you'd expect.

EJ Hradek seems to be working on a different excitement level than most people on the air. Did you see the episode of "The Office" where Ryan (the former temp) is met in NYC by Dwight and Michael? Well, Hradek is acting only a little less shifty and odd than Ryan did at the nightclub. I am just saying.

Oh, wait. Is that irresponsible reporting and/or journalism? Should we ask Buzz Bissinger? (If you don't know what I am talking about, go to You Tube and search on him. He made Bob Costas look less douche-y and that never seemed possible.)

One thing is for sure: no matter how much Hradek and Don LaGreca want us to warm up to Jaromir Jagr, it is never going to happen. While we can appreciate his skill and the scoring, etc. the real issue fans have with Jagr is that he looks disinterested most of the time. Last night? Jagr was, as LaGreca called him, a beast. These playoffs? He's been great. But most of the time, Jagr is skating big circles away from contact and there is no way to sugar-coat that.

Behind Hradek is the interior of the NHL Store in Manhattan. Makes me want to go there even more. Maybe some time this summer.

So, yeah, the show is good. Surprisingly, the show meant for radio plays better when you can't see them. As far as an ad for the store, well then, yes, that bit is successful. Gotta get me that two-foot Stanley Cup.

Now they are talking about Jagr's "Batman Beyond" soul-less patch and how it is strange for a playoff beard. Wow. Are we really stuck for stuff to talk about?

That's all I can take. My sinuses are hurting even more now. You're on your own and you have been warned.
