Islanders Chalk Talk

Just got a chance to watch the Islanders Talk Chalk session that was posted on the site earlier this past week. After seeing it, all I can say is that I want to buy in. Chris Dey, who is the VP of marketing, had some amazing stuff this season go on around the team. The Isles also really offer a lot of exclusive access to the team and that is refreshing.

So, seriously, go ahead and check it out on the website. These guys like to use the phrase "emotional ownership" to explain fan devotion. Even acknowledging that is a step in the right direction. Too often sports teams and other entertainment entities think they are above having open dialogs with the fan base. Right there means a lot to me, because the Islanders are important to all of us.

The best thing about this presentation was that to me, the bullshit detector didn't go off. Everyone comes off as credible and involved and wanting to do better. If you're an Islander fan, and you probably are if you're reading this, check out the presentation.

And by the way, The REXCORP Islanders Inspire program is just great. Everyone involved needs to feel very good about what has gone on with Islanders Inspire.
